What kind of password protection is used?

A standard PDF user password (RC4-128). Most PDF readers will prompt for it on open.

What if I forget the password?

There is no recovery. Pick a password you can remember or store it in a password manager.

Can I remove the password later?

Is the password sent to your servers?

It is used in-memory to encrypt the PDF and is then discarded. We never store passwords.
